What are Pete Hughes Baseball Camps?
Pete Hughes Baseball Camps and Virginia Tech Baseball believe in an up-tempo fun filled exciting way to play baseball. Our camps are designed to help young ballplayers improve their skills in the game of baseball while having fun. This positive reinforced camp will help any young player love the game as much as we do! Pete Hughes Baseball Camps are designed for the player who wants to learn about the game of baseball while having fun doing it. Our enthusiastic and fun-filled atmosphere will help every camper love the game of baseball!
Play Like a Hokie Instructional Camps
Play Like a Hokie Instructional Camp is four days of instruction and games. Each camper will learn all facets of the game and compete in games every day! This is a day-camp atmosphere where parents are free to drop off their kids and return at the end of the day, or are more than welcome to stay, watch and learn! Campers will recieve a Virginia Tech Baseball T-shirt upon arrival, however, need to bring their own hat, glove, bat (if they have one), sneakers and sunblock. Pete Hughes Camps do not provide meals, but ample time for water breaks and lunch is provided each day.
**Please note, this summer we will be having a Play Like a Hokie Instructional Camp in Norfolk, Va at the Norfolk Academy. Please download the brochure below for more details!**
Father-Son Youth Camps
We designed this camp as an avenue to educate fathers on effective and simple ways to teach their young ballplayers the fundamentals of the game. This is a great way to get on English Field with your son or daughter and learn great drills and games that can be done right in your own backyard! The event is a Friday night/Saturday morning format that features instruction on both days with a ballpark-style cookout on Friday night.
Youth
Spring Training Camp
The Youth Spring Training Camp is designed to get young players thinking about the game of baseball as spring and summer apporaches. We hope to allow kids to take advantage of their day off from school and come to English Field to have fun and learn the fundamentals of the game! Camp will include instruction on all facets of the game as well as fun competition and games.
